House buying - Solicitor recommendation

Not sure this is the correct area for posting, so I apologise in advance.

I am looking to purchase a property and need some recommendation, I live in south east london (SE5 7HL) and therefore need a good solicitor in this field. I prefer a local firm incase I need to go to their office to sign paper work etc.

What is a best way to find a reputable firm.

Ask your friends who they have used.

Better still ask your mortgage broker.

Don't worry about geography, most major Uk solicitors operate nationally without a problem. You can therefore avoid London prices.
