Over the year I have reduced the food bill to £505 per monthfor our family of four. I am doing it slowly but surely as one poster recommended. This is really good for us as it usually includes a takeaway once a week.
To reduce it for next year I intend to do the following:
Cut out biscuits, sweets, puddings and crisps. I have lost4KG this year hope to loose more next year. After all your advice:
I'd
cut anything processed, all the junk and alcohol, cook from scratch even
biscuits etc - would improve health as well as cost.
Buy cheaper cuts of meat.
I am not giving up chocolate or alcohol yet. Maybe cut down. I have been having home made shandy instead of glasses of wine.
Shop online with mysupermarket.com with ASDA because it thepaper it said “Asdapromises £1bn in price cuts to stop shoppers deserting to Aldi and Lidl” Iprefer to shop online then I can stick to a budget.
Has anybody seen any evidence of this yet especially using mysupermarket.com?0 -
Well from my last post nothing much changed apart from switching to Aldi.
All my good plans above just were scrapped.
So now I buy everything from Aldi shopping the way I usually do if Aldi doesn't have anything I don't buy it - simple. So have to make alot of things from scratch.
This last years saving on food alone by switching supermarket was £950 yes really.
For this year the only thing I have changed is not to buy alcohol as I am still trying to loose weight and still sticking with Aldi as I can and do buy everything from Aldi.0
