Can i claim solicitor costs?

I purchased a car from a dealer December 2011, it developed a fault after an hour, the dealer agreed to repair it. it took two months for them to do so, after ignoring my "rejection under the sale of goods act" letter. the car at first seemed to be repaired, but then the same fault developed. the dealer (two months later) agreed in writing to repair again after I threaten court action. after another 4 months of false promises I engaged a solicitor, it took a further 3 months of further false promises to finally repair the car for a second time. the solicitor cost me £1600, can I claimed them costs through the small claims court? I can no longer afford to use a solicitor, but as the dealer finally repaired the car 11 months later, I belive that admitted liability and should be able to recover my out of pocket costs that I would not have incurred if the dealer had repaired the car as they agreed to in May?
