DMP and car finance

Hi
Hoping someone can help.
I am currently on a DMP and have car finance which is kept seperate. I am spending too much on petrol and road tax and have looked at changing my car. For the new car it would be £3 extra a month however it is diesel so I would save with that and it's also much cheaper road tax so I would be saving £ 90 a year. Am I allowed to do this?
