You could try phoning them first thing on Monday morning - we were in a similar situation a few months ago, and we were able to apply for the mortgage on the Saturday morning on the phone. (We did try using the online application, but it didn't go through and we ended up starting again from scratch on the phone, so that was a waste of time.)

phone the online banking bit 0800 30 20 10. I fyou want to remortgage with them and there is no extra spending and stuff they may be able to do the application over the phone rightaway so you can reserve the deal before the deadline. Nationwide allow you to 'get out' of your existing deal if you are within the last 3 months of the deal so by rights you should be able to switch straightaway. We had an appointment in a branch this morning as there was a tiny redeption on our deal expiring in August but we chose to switch now before the deal gets withdrawn tonight. Took 30 minutes.
