National trust membership

Does anyone know of any special offers for family membership of National Trust?
We have had the renewal notice today for this years direct debit and it is a staggering £77.60, I think it was only £50 odd when we first joined about five years ago.
I know it is still good value but there are only two National Trust properties around here so we tend to use it when we have visitors to entertain or on the rare occassions we are on holiday.
I seem to think you can get membership for either National Trust or English Heritage via your clubcard points. At one time you could do both with clubcard points but I think its only one now.
One big thing that annoys me is that you only get a cardboard memebership card not a plastic one as you do with English Heritage. The cardboard soons gets shredded.
Also during the next year there will be only one of our brood left under 18 but the older two are in full time education but over 18 so I wonder if family membership still covers them

They are offering 12 months membership for the price of 9 months if you apply online (and a free picnic rug.) Suppose you could apply in husband's name as a 'new' member.

The website states that family membership only covers children under 18.0 -
Hi mhoc,
The National Trust for Scotland is usually cheaper and allows entry to National trust properties all over the UK.
