Morning everyone :D No extra for me over the weekend but thought I would just say hello and see how well everyone is doing :T
I have finished my main job and am not back till wait for it the 14th of Jan ! woohoo I say. I have 2 more extra jobs this week on Wed and Thurs which I will add as the money comes in.
I am the same as you Moneyspider I am not doing anymore Eb*y until Jan when I will list a few BIN's and hope for the best.
The best news of all is I am getting a woodburner put in on the 10th of Jan :j I am so excited and its been a lot of hard earning and saving but I think it is worth the expense as we have oil and its so expensive now  Mr Mav reckons it will pay for its self in about 18 months as we have a free supply of logs :) Which I thought was very MSE :money:But down side is loads of work to be done before it goes in moving plug sockets, sorting floor out and decorating and as Mr Mav works away guess its gonna be me who sorts it all out :D
So any idea of putting my feet up and having a rest is out the window :D But hey whats new there :)
Anyway enough of my aimless chit chat good luck to all :rotfl:

Nothing for me this morning, my facebooker didn't bother showing up.

I'm making a humongous effort not to spend any money on food this week until I do the Xmas shop(can't believe that's crept up on me!) I bought loads of whoopsies on Saturday night so those need eating up along with most of the food in my fridge! I have cranberries that need making into cranberry sauce ASAP and 20000kg of onions that need to be turned into red onion chutney. This week will be a fun week organising Christmas but I feel a massive amount of lists are about to be made....

  • Morning!

Apart from £500, this month I haven't saved or made anything else. Christmas has hit me so I will leave it till Jan now :)

Hoping to try my first Car Boot sale, will January be a good time for this? Have things to sell but I've got fed up of Ebays fees, non payers and the fact that whether a seller or a buyer - Ebay seems to go against me!

We got a woodburner 2-3 years ago and it is much cheaper. It has taken time to build up or log supply. Next year we should be able to use much more wood and less coal. Even this year it has been much cheaper. We use the central heating much less. The flue of the woodburner goes up through our bedroom so it not only heats most of downstairs it heats our bedroom as well. I keep my teapot on the top of the stove so I have hot tea whenever I want it. It also means I use the kettle and microwave less. Now people know we have the woodburner we quite often get offered free wood.

Thank you for that information durham mim much appreciated.I love the idea of the tea pot on the stove as I love my tea.
We are lucky as we have a lot of land and we have had some trees down so they are cut up and ready plus FIL has land a few miles away and took down 21 huge Poplar trees last year so some seasoned and ready to go, But loads still to be cut up etc so DH will be busy when he comes back for the Christmas Hols :rotfl: Bet he cant wait lol

I've not been well and computer been dodgy:mad:

BUT, back on line today & I have redeemed £50 from Yougov:j:j

It has only taken me 4 years to do it!!

Also found £1 sorting out knicker drawer???

OH bought me a pint in our local and a friend needed 2nd class stamps... PO shut.. I had some in my purse.. bought at a discount at Costco.. so a profit there which I need to calculate, plus, other 'drinkers' persuaded him to pay a handling charge as they were Christmas stamps!!

Will work it all out and update soon.

Hi Mim, We are in Co Durham too!..
OH works as a handyman and he 'supplies' friends, and our local, with wood off-cuts etc from odd jobs and tree felling. He gets an odd pint out of it, saves him having to go to the tip, is greener solution and helps maintain friendships/community.

oops, that sounded a bit OTT, but I guess you know what I mean.

Think I need to investigate our chimneys, could be saving ourselves even more.
