Everyone active - cancelling membership

Options
Hi everyone :)

I'm currently with everyone active but want to cancel - I'm pregnant and haven't used it for 8 months, worst thing is I'm not even in a contract eeek!

Am I allowed to just cancel direct debit? Ive read the t&c and it says inform bank and everyone active in writing or pop into the gym and let them know. They said this needs to be done by the 15th of the month for it to be valid for the 1st (when payment goes out).

I've just had a quick google on their website and following watchdog they state that members have a right to cancel their direct debit at anytime with no notice period. Hmmmm does this mean I need to wait for the payment to go out on Monday or can I just cancel now?

Hate conflicting info :(. We cancelled hubbies last year but did it about the 5th so payment had gone out, we didn't put it in writing and nothing ever came back! Thanks in advance :money:

I think you will be too late to cancel the payment that is about to go out, but you could try, especially if you have telephone banking which is open 24 hours. That is what I would try first.
Otherwise you'll have to pay this payment and then cancel asap - first at the bank and then tell the fitness club. As long as you haven't signed for " a minimum of x months" you can cancel a DD at any time. I don't usually cancel in writing, it has never been requested.
Good luck......and enjoy that baby when he/she arrives!
