Suggestion Regarding Abbey Mortagage

Hi,
To give brief background. Me & my wife both are on tier 1 visa with around 3 years left. I don't have any defaults etc and my credit score is 915 and my wife 910. We started looking at purchasing home with 10% deposit and shortlisted one. Before putting an offer we got AIP from halifax for 250K with 10% deposit via a independent mortgage ad-visor.
We have given the offer and vendor accepted it for 185k. The agent advised us to go with abbey as there interest rate is better compared to halifax and also there is a cash back. So I submitted the docs for abbey and the agent came back saying that abbey is unable to find me on there credit check radar. I activated the Experian account and found that my credit data is unavailable due to some reason with in Experian because of address so the score dropped to 723. Requested them to rectify it. They took 3 days to do it and meanwhile abbey has rejected our application saying the reason of credit score. They left two duplicate searches on my credit report. I was disappointed but decided to try with halifax rather and found that if I go directly with halifax I am getting good offers compared to using intermediaries.
I called up Halifax provided all my details and they did DIP. It came up with an eligibility of 250k but compulsory 15% deposit. I don't have 15% deposit right now with me so I approached the independent advisor to do the DIP and it got approved for 10%. He submitted my full application but I am confused why there is difference in approval when I approached directly and with an agent. I am loosing around 1.5k benefits by using agent.
Could any one suggest whether it is better to try again Abbey(as my credit report is rectified now to get better deal) or wait till halifax completes full application via agent? Also how time it will take for halifax to complete the full application.
Thanks
