Still looking for a house!

Wondering if anyone is in the same situation. I've been house hunting for a year now. I am just within my price range, so i don't have a huge amount of choice but there are some houses out there within my requirements - i just don't like any of them.
Is a year too long to be looking? I'm desperate to move, hate my current rented flat, i just can't find anywhere that i like.
I'm 34 and have rented for 10 years so i think this first move into ownership has really built up into something major in my head. Perhaps i am being too cautious as a result? I'm in London, buying on my own, so it's been a hard slog saving for a big deposit.

Its an opinion thing, no right or wrong time span.
My personal opinion is that you are being unrealistic if you are looking for 1 year and not purchased and suggest you cannot be that desperate.
You may have to make some concessions or save a bit more..

I think Dave has hit it on the head. If you are desperate to buy then you would accept something perhaps not ideal but a good starting point. You can always move again in a few years once you are settled.
My first flat was in the best area I could afford at the time of rapidly rising prices but wasn't exactly where I wanted to live long term. I stayed there for 5 years before buying a nice house in a nice area with my OH.0 -

Thanks Dave, i am still managing to save some money, so every bit helps in London.I think Dave has hit it on the head. If you are desperate to buy then you would accept something perhaps not ideal but a good starting point. You can always move again in a few years once you are settled.

Thanks latecomer, i think you and Dave are right, i do need to be more open minded when viewing but i am seeing this home as long term for me, as i'm already 34 and want some security for the foreseeable future.0
