Received a debt letter with the wrong sir name

So today I got a debt collection letter with the wrong sir name.
I also found out their address is from a virtual room that they don't even rent and never have as I rung the company.
There were also spelling mistakes everywhere.
The company is registered with companys house but only from a few months ago. They are threating court unless I pay by the date stated. In the letter it said within 7 days from the date stated (by the friday 30th). I then noticed they hadn't even put it in the post until 8PM on the 27th!! So I rung them saying I wanted an extention because of that. They've said I now have until Wednesday.
Now the reason or the debt is basically i asked for a service from a company and they never appeared to have been doing the service i paid for. Then I got an invoice billing me for services they never appear to have done. It appears to be fraudulent and this debt agency seems even more suspicious.
Adding all of this together with the fact they appear to be convinced my sir name is their huge error. Where does everyone believe I stand legally? Can I ignore this as I think it's fraud?
I need help as I'm a little concerned.

If you can reasonable show or dispute that the services were ever given, then you could defend any court action they might try.
Sounds unlikely they would try, but you never know.
If you don't owe the debt, why did you ask for any extension? I would have told them to get lost.
Anyway, dates/extensions are dubious at best. As you've found out, a common tactic by collection companies is to say give you 7 days, but they make sure they don't send out the letter until the point that most or if not all that time will have elapsed. It is done deliberately that way in order to panic you.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

If it's not in your name or any name that you have been known as, it's not yours to pay.
Even more so if everything else about the company has a funny smell about it.
I think I would ring CAB or similar just to make sure though.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50
