A little "whoo hoo"

Options
I have been doing the sealed pot challenge for almost a year now and have got almost £3000 from it. I sent my debt a cheque of overpayment last week and today got a letter from them saying I've only got 29 payments left. That means I've cut about a year off it this year by doing the sealed pot challenge and I also cut a year off last year. I need to get this paid off in about 24 months because then my children all leave college and the money goes down considerably so as long as I carry on doing the sealed pot I should do it.

Would you have saved more interest had you paid the debt down in dribs and drabs?

No because it was one of those loans where you pay the interest off first then it goes to interest free.

No I've been saving up all kinds of things like shopping vouchers from doing surveys, ebay selling, birthday and xmas I've asked for money instead of a present and my small business doing nail art. And before someone starts, yes I am registered self employed and I declare everything.
  • Well done, that's great! A whole year is a huge chunk to knock off! Keep in bringing that DFD nearer and nearer.
