Price Match in Waitrose

Waitrose own brand "shreddies" were £1.19 a box - labelled "price match with Tesco".
This week they are £1.39 - labelled "price match with Sainsbury's".
Am I getting cynical ??

There seems to be a price war going on. Ocado are trying to beat Tesco and Morrisons are honouring other supermarket vouchers. It seems to me like vigilant shoppers will get bargains whereas if you haven't price checked major supermarket prices you'll get done.0

As far as I'm aware they only match branded goods with Tesco, and own brand with Sainsbury's. I shop in Waitrose loads, my local one stopped price matching a while back because it's one of the "Little" branches and they put all their flipping prices up (like Waitrose version of Tesco Express where most things are a bit more expensive than a big Tesco) but when they did do the price match this was always the case. It was just some of their value 'Essential' range that matched Sainsbury's 'Basics' range. Are you sure the other sign you saw previously didn't say Sainsbury's, or it was for a different product? If it was a white sign with green at the top it was definitely Sainsbury's cos the Tesco signs are all green. I spend waaay too much time in supermarkets

I am sure that it previously said Tesco........and now says Sainsbury. I only bought a box about two weeks ago.
I'll have to trail down to Morrison's and see what their price is
