Unfair Default - how to remove?

Exactly - I wouldn't contact companies I had closed accounts for of any changes of address as I wouldn't expect them to need the details.
As for why they shouldn't link the 2 accounts (old and new) - if I was after money from someone the first thing I would do would be to check if they were still a customer - or is that just too much like common sense??!

Thanks Lee - was just coming to report how happy I am that this issue is now resolved.
I got absolutely no where with dialling 191 and trying to sort the issue out via the normal channel fo contacting customer services, but thanks to the forum and Lee the default has now been removed and my credit report looks much healthier!
