Medical expense whilst on business trip

Somethuing else worth mentioning...when I had to visit a hospital in the USA a few years ago, before they let me see a doctor I had to spend a good while filling out my insurance details, which they then insisted on verifying, so unless the OP paid upfront (which seems unlikely given the costs potentially involved - although I could be wrong) I am wondering how they managed to get seen/treated in the first place?0
