Can a late utility payment affect my credit rating?

Hello,

about 6 months ago I failed to pay an electricity bill with Scottish Power on time; I was abroad, on holiday, at the time. I eventually paid it about 3 weeks late. My question is; can this single action affect my ability to get a mortgage in the future?

I have always paid SP a monthly fixed amount (£50 at the time of the late payment; it has recently be reduced to £44).

Is the account on your credit file as a credit agreement?

If it isn't, as I suspect, it will do no harm.
