I can see the light!

I hope it is OK to post under DFW. I really wanted to share my positive vibes as I have had so much help and advice from others on here. I still have a small loan to pay off so I am still a DFW anyway.

I joined the site when I found out about my hubby's gambling problem and took out an Egg flexible 10K loan to pay ooff various debts he had occured. Since joining this site I have learnt absolutely loads about budgeting and money saving. We budget well for EVERYTHING WE DO and NEVER buy anything unless we have the money to pay for it! We have got our debt down to 2K in 2 years and it is now on an M+S card at 3.9%, if will be fully paid off within a year.

Anyway, I recently found out about quidco thanks to this site and have made over £100 cashback!

Today my renewal came in for my car insurance, and instead of just filing, I actually decided to shop about. I managed to shave of £150 just by doing that and can also get £85 cashback from Quidco too! Rather than pay in a lump sum I have applied for a Halifax card for 0% purchases and will use this to pay for the insurance in 1 lump sum saving me another £100! If I pay off credit card at monthly payment rate I was making to my old car insurance policy I can pay off credit card in 6 months, leaving me 6 months to save for the next year's policy.

So a big thank you to everyone who has passed on advice to me on this board, it feels so good to be in control of my finances and starting to see the results. I am so proud of me and my hubby. Hes worked really hard to pay off extra to the loan and we have both totally changed out attitude to spending and money :)
Me debt free thanks to MSE :T
