Shoes!

My Christmas party is on Monday evening and I have no shoes!
I have a black lace 3/4 sleeve dress. Pretty plain and boring! But I need shoes to go with it!
I've never really worn heels
I'm more of a big goth boots with a platform type gal! So I'm looking for something quite high (I'm only 5 foot 2) but also comfortable! I liked the idea of wedges but all I can seem to find is heel-less wedges or even worse OPEN TOE *shakes fist*. I'm wearing fishnet tights, so no peep toes!
So then I started looking at concealed platform stilettos. They're GORGEOUS and definitely my favourite style...my only concern is how easy they would be to walk in, since I'm a novice at heels, BUT I have a trusty pair of flats in my bag, just in case! :rotfl:
If anyone can give me any tips or examples of what I should be looking for then that would be ace!
Help!

My advice (fwiw) is to go shoe shopping!
I'd suggest you need to try some on, and trot up and down the shop a few times! I'm more of a chunky boot/trainer/wellies sort
so I usually have a similar problem. However, I agree with the wedges idea - for me, they're so much easier to walk in than heels! I have a pair of platform wedges (I also need that little bit more height) similar to these http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=1&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=6452356&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208738&parent_categoryId=208609&pageSize=20&refinements=category~[208951|208738]&noOfRefinements=1 - they're comfy, go with most things and lengthen the leg a little (also needed!). Dotty P also have a sale on at the mo so may be worth a look. Although I like the concealed platform shoes, I've never yet found a pair with less than a 4" heel (not including platform) and that's just too high for me and I always end up "going over" and risking a broken ankle!

I don't really do heels and prefer a stompy goth boot too!
They're not stilettos but have you seen TUK heels? They have a large platform so whilst the heels look huge they're pretty easy to walk it. The heel is thick as well so it feels sturdier than stiletto.
They have some lovely designs too- not as far out as Iron Fist but they still attract attention!0
