I previously asked this question on the forum, but am in need of some more ideas!
For my friend's Christmas present I'm aiming to make her a Hogwarts Care Package.
I've read all the books a couple of times, but I'm not as familiar with them as I know some people are, and therefore I'm hoping for a little help.
I have a £20 budget.
I've bought her so far:
- A Hogwarts Plaque (£3 on eBay!)
- Bean Boozled Beans (Like Bertie Botts) (£2.49 - Mr Simms)
She already has all the books and dvds. She has all the charity books, she also has a hat and scarf in her house.
She mentioned a poster she really likes, from the first film, I looked it up on eBay and it's £8.45! I thought that was pretty expensive, but it is a really big one, so I'm not sure.
That'd leave me with about £7, I'm unsure whether I'll go for it, so I'll say I have about £15 left.
Does anybody have any ideas? She also has three harry potter shirts and isn't really into jewellry too much.
Thank you!

Can you get her a little teddy owl? You could give it a letter or card, as they carry the post?
Or make her a wand?Bossymoo

That's a really cute idea! Will definitely look for an owl! She has a wand, I'm having trobule as she has so many of the items which are relatively easy to locate! Thanks!

If you use search functioN there have been quite a few threads asking this, will be a popular gift this year :-) think things like Freddie's for chocolate frogs etc.

Can you knit or crochet? There are some super cute patterns on Ravelry - I reckon a golden snitch (there are several pattens) would look cute! Ooh, and I've just spotted a pattern for pygmy puffs too (although the author admits they could easily double for star trek tribbles) - it's knitted with one of those "fake fur" type wools, that people sometimes use for teddy bears.
Failing that... how about some homemade baked goods? It doesn't matter if you can't bake - they'll be more authentic! (Like Hagrid's rock buns, etc.)
If I must suggest something bought, how about a toy dragon? It could be representative of all the various dragons mentioned throughout the series. This keyring toy is cute: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ddraig-Goch-Welsh-Red-Dragon/dp/B000TXR41G/0 -
Bookmark? HP mug and put some hot chocolate in it? Glasses like HP wears, a feather pen, calendar.
Shower Gels in the shape of frogs? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fun-Bathtime-Frog-Bath-Sachet/dp/B004RFZGKS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1354137498&sr=8-3
And presentation maybe put it all in a box and rap it in brown paper and tie some rope or string around it then get a toy owl and stick it on top so it looks like the owl is delivering it

you could do as missy moo suggests RE packaging
instead of buying an owl, this is a cute and simple idea
easy to do and cheap

Lol! I like that!
You could put him in the box and when it gets open the owl flys up with a hand written message wishing her a happy christmas! 0 -
Bonus points if you make the paper you write the letter on look like parchment...
Totally agree that Hagrid's rock cakes would be a fab idea!! It'd be good to get some things in that are funny references to the book as well, like this. I'll have a think for you when I'm in lecture tomorrow!0
