Car stereo probs

Already posted this on the motoring forum, but got no help:(
I have a factory fitted Philips c.d. Auto changer in my 2004 Vectra.
It has now stopped playing c.d.'s and it won't eject the cartridge that holds the c.d.'s.
My usual mechanic doesn't work on car stereos so do I need to take it to one of these car audio specialists?
Is it possible to remove the head unit myself and see if there is maybe some kind of release button for the cartridge on the back of it.
Any help greatly appreciated:beer:

Most car stereos have holes in the front of them for special "keys" to go into. Sometimes you can bodge it with a few nails but sometimes you really need to buy the keys , not so bad as you can get them from eBay for a few quid.0

Cheers,if I am able to remove the unit do you think there would be a manual release button/switch on the back or side of it for ejecting the c.d.cartridge?0

There's usually a very small "pin hole" for manually releasing the CDs have a look around for it first before removing the stereo.
It should be on the face of the stereo somewhere.0 -
Will have a look:beer:0

You'd be better on a Vauxhall forum Mr Bun. Multichangers are OK if they're in the boot, get in there yourself, disconnect a couple of cables, undo a few bolts, and then if something's stuck just keep dismantling carefully until you can get your precious CDs. Then put it back together. Ahem. If that doesn't work, type the model number into eBay and hopefully you'll be surprised by how many there are and how cheap they all are!0
