Experiences of Barclays overdraft on a DMP please

Does anyone have any experience with the Barclays collection department?
They are insisting that my partner puts a voluntary charging order on our house before they accept the DMP. We don't want to do that, but they have said that they will take him to court for a charging order if he doesn't agree. They have said that they will put it in writing that they will not force a sale. When he said that the other creditors had frozen interest they seemed incredulous, and said that they had never heard of this!
This was a business overdraft that my partner guarenteed personally, has anyone else put a debt like this on a DMP?
He is speaking to Payplan next week, but we would really like to know what other people have experienced when dealing with Barclays. Thanks, I am tearing my hair out.

I would suggest he does not agree to voluntary charging order - I cannot see any benefit of him doing so.
Remember whilst they may take him to court to ATTEMPT to obtain a charging order on his property - that does not mean that the court will necessarily agree to one.
It sounds like this is a vebal conversation with Barclays - if it is I would strongly suggest that he ceases all phone calls etc and only communicates in writing.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
