The product code on the product has been stickered over the old one which was 711/1150 - though not recognised on their website.
Thanks OP :T

If you get lucky with a 24v model, you can add a 3 year replacement cover in case it breaks, or has accidental damage, for only £2.99.
Product code 8830241.
If you have already purchase one, like myself, we have 45 days from date of purchase to buy this -
Taking out Replacement Product Cover
Replacement product cover can be brought on products purchased online and in store within 45 days of purchasing the product you wish to cover providing the product is still in good working order. If you are purchasing Replacement product cover in-store at a later date (within 45 days of purchasing the product) you will need to bring the item and the receipt(s) back into store.0 -

If you take cover out for it, only the 18v Hammerdrill is covered not the 24v
In theory you purchased an item and are receiving a different item, so if something goes wrong with it, I don't think you'll be able to take it back0 -

Doesn't sound right to me. Anyway, one could always get a staffer to write "substitute item" on receipt or summat ?0 -

It my understanding they don't go by description, just the product code - Hence when i got mine its only the product code on the outer cardboard sleeve they checked against the product code on the reciept - and would expect the same if i had to return the product under the warranty.
The warranty itself is priced upon the value of the product, again not the product description.
The least that would happen is i may get an 18v drill as a replacement or my original spend back in vouchers.0 -
The 18volt ones are old stock, the 24 volt are the replacement, but on the same cat number. If a store has any 18's left, thats what you'll get, otherwise it will be a 24v (insider info

if a drill does break in the warranty time argos dont have a repair facility for drills you just get the drill replaced cos i foned customer service and told them my old 18 volt cordless drill had become faulty and the woman said there no repair facility for drills just take the drill and receipt to your local argos and it will be replaced0

Second time lucky!!.
A 24V drill came out during a viewing at Argos - Holloway Rd, London this morning!

so for £13.97, it's a bit of a steal.
