I am trying to help my mother in law cliam for mis sold ppi from her mortgage. The company who she originally used have changed and they was taken over by another company and then another company. She no longer has the mortgage, can she still claim and what is the best way of going about it ?

She cant claim as the policy no longer exists but she can complain if that is what you mean.

The complaint should be made to the seller of the policy (which may be an issue if it was prior to 2005) giving the reasons why she felt it was mis-sold. Unlike other types of PPI, MPPI has a much lower success rate on complaints and an ever lower success rate if it was an advised sale.

So, the main things first of all are who sold it? when was it sold to her? and what are the reasons for complaint?

was it mis-sold? having PPI isnt a reason in itself.
