Help- I bought a hat for a forthcoming wedding and have managed to crease it! Does anybody know how to remove creases from a sinamay hat without wrecking it please???

I don't know what a sinamay hat is, but have you tried steaming it over a kettle or something?0

If I'm right in thinking sinamay is a kind of straw then this site suggests steaming the creases out.
