Croydon deserves more than being charged huge parking fees, cant see point in sticking bits of coloured paper over neglected Allders to try and lure shoppers in. It would be better to spend some money on the place and help lower waged people to shop there - really can't see point of telling shoppers to walk if it's 20 mins or less, people won't spend their money in the economy if they cant get their heavy shopping bags home. Seems like a half-baked damaging idea, no-one has any money anyway because of underemployment, low value part-time jobs, short insecure contracts and youth unemployment. A new car park won't help if it's a ruse to squeeze even more money out of families when the charges rocket. I despair! It would be better to create more jobs through making a more successful economy so people weren't terrified to buy anything new and felt a bit more confident and cheerful. Expensive car parking will just push more and more shoppers online, same with the new train fare hikes. I think people at top have lost their way - they need to come down and ask us why we're not spending, buying british and so creating jobs.
