Sainsbury's half-price Christmas Cakes withdrawn from shelves.

I went to Sainsburys tonight to buy one of these Christmas cakes on offer...

but the shelf was empty and when I asked the sales assistant she said there had been a memo from head office to take them off sale and destroy them. As I was stood there talking to her a manager gave her another memo saying to remove all promotion notices.
I don't know what the problem is but if anyone has bought one already you might want to ring and see if there is an issue with them.

That's a shame for those that have already bought one, there should be notices in the papers if there's anything wrong with them.
Socks, that link takes me to the home page.0 -
There are no recall notices or allergy alerts currently published for them. If there is an issue then details should be published on the FSA website here:

Sorry about that... I copied the url from the page with the offer cake on it but it doesn't seem to work.
Type in 'Sainsbury's Red Tree' in the search bar on the Sainsbury's grocery website and it is the first item there.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

Sometimes we withdraw items nothing to do with the quality of the item, but could be a pricing issue.0

But then the sales assistant wouldn't/shouldn't have said they were destroyed would she? No worries... I'll get an M&S one to take to Canada with us.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024
