PC World, reserve and collect in store.

Options
Firstly, I didn't know where to put this, so feel free to move it to a more appropriate section.

I used the collect in store service for PC world and I had to collect the item by the close of business yesterday. I intended to go straight after work but forgot to take my bank card to work, and i didnt have time to get home and back to the store. I tried to order it again but the price has since gone up by £30 in the space of a day. (i'm guessing a special offer just finished).

My question is, has anyone experienced similar, and managed to get it for the price I originally reserved it for. I know it clearly states you have to collect by the end of business on that day, and it's all my own fault. But I will buy the printer at the old price, but it isn't really good value at it's current price.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

There really is nothing you can do. The profit on printers is generally quite small - it's the ink that makes the real profit - so I doubt the manager or anyone at customer service would knock the price down again. I suppose you could look in the paper as there are sometimes weekend deals that give you cheaper prices when you bring a voucher in, but other than that, that's it.

    Hiya,

I've successfully done this in the Dundee store, when I've taken a screen Dump of the goods as more often than not the web price is different i.e. cheaper and they can't be bothered checking the difference and they haven't taken the goods off the shelf anyway and only do so when you go into the store to pick it up so they are none the wiser.

Worth a try, and go for it. Good luck.

PS there is a couple of good deals on the grabbit board re printers one is from Staples with a money off voucher. I have been emailled a £5 off voucher off a £30 spend if this is any good to you in store which I can forward it on. PM me if you need it, (or anyone else reading).

Also I got a Brother DCP115c from Tesco for £38.xx a brilliant printer / scanner / copier and the compatible cartridges are only £6 for a set from inkemporium, so might be worth a look there too if yo have one local.
