We've moved here 1.5y ago - can we get a mortgage?

Hi all,
We're EU citizens ( Swedish and Romanian), we've lived here for the last 18 months and we are planning to buy our first property.
We have a 20% deposit and good and stable incomes .We are wondering there may be issues with the application because of our relatively short stay in the UK.
Although most lenders we talked to said we would need to have at least 2y of history in UK before considering lending to us, two large banks said it shouldn't be a problem if we are EU citizens.
Has anybody been in this situation and can provide some input?
Thanks!

I would guess that if you are on the electoral roll and can be credit scored, you'll be able to borrow from a fair few mortgage lenders, depending of course on deposit and meeting any other applicable criteria.I am a mortgage broker.
