Electric toothbrushes - oral-b smartseries/smartguide

Options
I want to get an electric toothbrush - my teeth aren't in great condition due to a few years of neglect so anything that's best for them, well, it helps.

I'm looking at oral-b brushes and quite fancy the new trizone ones (not overly important which one though as the heads fit each other for most of them). Anyway the main thing I'm wondering about is if it's worth the extra money, really for the wireless smartguide thing.

On amazon currently the trizone 3000 is £40, the 5000 is £70 and the smart guide is the only difference between the 2 according to oral-b's website. http://www.oralb.co.uk/products/electric-toothbrush/Trizone.aspx Oh and a bit longer battery life.

I'd like to spend out on a good toothbrush as obviously I'd hope to keep the handle for a long time. Just the smartguide seems very expensive for what it is - on the other hand I love anything gadgety, so having it would make me happy.

Just wondering if anyone has one and how useful they really find it?

It's a useful little gadget, and helps you realise how long 2 mins is when you're brushing your teeth.

The one with my brush gives you a smiley face after 2 mins, and then the smiley face starts winking at 2mins 30sec !

If that's worth £30 of your money - then go for it!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Huh, considering the handle beeps each 30 seconds anyway... sounds like a lot of money for what it is! Think I'll save myself £30 to spend on things other than a smiley face and a diagram of 4 mouth quadrants. Cute but not worth £30. £10, yes.

You can download a toothbrush timer app for free from the itunes store. The one I recommend is by Ryan Newsome and it will also remind you when to change your toothbrush and when your next dentist visit is due.

Cool, thanks - seems similar ones for android too :) Don't think that exact one is on there though, should be one with the same stuff!
