Old debt recently chased

Hi all, again a question about statute barred debts.
I have been recently contacted by a DCA agency for multiple references of accounts and credit cards all dating back to 10 years ago. I have never made contact to them nor made any payments. Can this debt be considered statute barred?

Sounds quite likely as long as none are a mortgage debts or had a CCJ granted.

Hi Fermi, thank you for your prompt response.
No mortgages but not sure about CCJ. Is there a way to check that out?0 -
You can check the registry trust, but it does cost to do so.
Credit reports may also show recent ones, but they are notoriously fickle and may not show them up anyway.
However, I would think that if a CCJ existed, it would be very very odd if any chasing debt collector did not mention it. Unlikely that they would miss the chance to make threats saying that "we have a CCJ and will apply to enforce it if you don't pay".Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I see.
Will send a SB letter back, I have seen a template browsing the forum. Thank you for your help.0 -
No harm in that as you are not aware of any CCJ. Come back if they dispute your letters - we can advise further.
