Free Bags for Life at Sainsburys on the 27th April

I've just read an article on the BBC website which says that on 27th April Sainsburys will not be giving out any normal disposable carrier bags.

Instead they will be handing out free Bags for Life to encourage people to re-use carrier bags.:T

I was listening to the radio last night and they said on the news that Sainsbury are banning the usual carrier bags on Friday 27th and giving out the Bags For Life which are usually sold in store for 10p each.

what a top idea, i use them anyway, but may use this as an excuse to top up my supply.

My shopping from Sainsburys is due to be delivered that day - do you think my shopping will arrive in the bags for life

Its about time supermarkets took a proactive approach, although we all should use bags for life than the thrown away bags we use too. Good on Sainsburys, I wish Morrisons would do something although I use bags for life in both stores I dont see Morrisons do anything to reduce its bags usage, other than some shoppers take matters in there own hands.

I am quite bad for using new bags instead of recycling. I shop alot in Sainsburys so I might take advantage of those bags!!
