  • Real bargain, am tempted. But NO I want either a brown, or maybe a colour mix next. I like this, it seems a little larger than the Syro which was on my list.

Lately the bargains have all seemed to be lacquer black. Is that because its "summer" and so winter colours reduced more?.

There are good illustrations of the Garan here - won't let me copy images.

Just the one in the flap, an open small front one and then the large main zipped one with a small zipped pocket inside.

Think the design of this one is quite weird as the flap pocket is such an odd concept.

Thanks for that. I agree the flap is an odd idea. Looking at that link you posted I don't think it would suit my Mum after all. I've still got the Turqoise Orelie which I might give her - but now that I've seen the floral print in the flesh I think she'd really like that. Wish they did a large fairfax in it, or something that sort of size.

Amazon have the Nagato and the Gracie in floral print. I'll have a look at those and see what the sizes are like.

Thanks so much for that - I really appreciate your help :) I was thinking about the Reth as it's one of my faves and I see today it's gone down from £51.65 to £37.50 so that feels like an omen ;)

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AME1DPK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

    Also ordered the Gracie,
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AMDZEN8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

not reduced but it's slightly bigger than the Reth. I'm a bit unsure what to get for her. When I showed her all my spare bags to see what she wanted, she felt that the medium Fairfax was too small, and the Defea too big, so I'm really looking for something in between. She chose the Peony Defea, I think, because she liked the colour, but now she says it's a bit big - though she is still using it, which is nice.

Now I'm just not sure if I should hold on to the Turqoise Orelie to keep for an xmas pressie???? Decisions decisions....

Yes its hard to tell from the pictures. I wouldn't have said the Gracie was bigger than a Reth or Fairfax.

The floral looks really like in the Reth.

With the Defea you can keep your 'handbag stuff' in the front packets and use the main part for shopping.

You have one lucky mum!! Mind you if someone asked me now what I wanted don't think I'd really know as I want them all!!

Had to search for that list as it was pages pack. Will have to keep it current for when we are pondering!!

I went by the measurements on Amazon, which suggested the Gracie was slightly bigger than the Reth. I think it's hard to tell without seeing them in the flesh. After all the Hannelora looked perfect on telly but now it's here it's too small and has an odd design (I think).

I don't think Mum is that lucky - I think this is just me feeding my addiction to buying Kipling bags and now I don't feel so guilty because I have the excuse that I'm buying for Mum and not me (but I'm still getting the buzz from buying)! :rotfl:

She's not addicted to them, so it's just another bag to her, I don't think she views them the way we do - but it's early days yet, I'll have her converted soon!!!! ;) She does struggle as she's in a wheelchair and paralysed down the left side - so she needs something with good organisation, which is why I thought Kipling would be ideal! And she likes bright colours so I hope this cheers her up a bit! I've a suspicion the Gracy might be a bit awkward as it looks like you might need to use 2 hands to get into the velcro pocket at the front, but I'll see when it arrives.

Also, do you think it would help if I copied that list of yours into the first post, so we can find it easily?

Yes copying the list might be a good idea - any others I need to add it to first though??

Yes regarding the Gracie - it was the Velcro front tabs that was putting me off - but I still have in my basket ready to pounce!!
