Spotify with two iPods

I currently own 2 iPods - one for the gym - the other one sits in my car and is there in place of a CD Player
I intend to start adding music on a regular basis and was pointed in the direction of Spotify
I understand I can get an account via my son who is a student for £4.99 a month (trying to save money)
http://www.nus.org.uk/en/nus-extra/discounts/2011/spotify-50-off/
Can you download music like you do with iTunes and listen to it offline?
Is it unlimited?
If I do sign up - can I download music onto BOTH - iPods or can I only download onto one of them?
I have looked everywhere for the answers but getting nowhere
Thanks in advance......

You install the Spotify app (therefore they need to be an iPod touch), sign in with your Spotify Premium account (which as you say is £4.99 with the student discount) you can then search and listen to an unlimited amount of music, you also have the option to download some or all of your playlists for offline playback.
I think the limit for mobile devices is 2 so that covers both your iPods.
I have used Spotify on both an iPod and a N95 at the same time and it works really well, I cannot fault it.
Download and install spotify for your computer sign in (think it requires Facebook now), you then have Spotify Free
download and install the Spotify app to your iPod touches and sign in that will give you 48hrs of Premium to try it out (including offline download on the desktop) http://www.spotify.com/uk/mobile/overview/0 -
Sorry guys just got back
So it seems you CAN download onto your iPod (which is a Touch in my case)
jayme1 - it seems that you option you suggest is for a mobile phone so it may not be relevant to iPod - or is that it is relevant to any mobile device
Its not really clear and it seems previous posters who are possibly members were not aware either that you could download and listen offline
Is there a limit to what you can download for offline listening?
Does the offline content disappear if your membership lapses?0 -

The only limits is a maximum of 3 devices can save offline at a time and there is a limit of 3,333 tracks can be synced offline per device (doesn't have to be the same songs on each device).
The app needs to communicate with Spotify once every 30 days to check you have a subscription, if it hasn't connected then after the 30 days are up the songs expire preventing you from listening to them any more, there is a helpful counter in the app on how many days you have left before you have to re-sync.
You don't need a mobile phone at all, you only need a device that can install the app, install the app on your iPod touch and you can try Premium free for 48 hours.0 -

Very interesting - it seems they do not actively promote it so as not to 'annoy' the big boys!!
You seem to know your stuff about Spotify0
