Sunday-get things done day
Made a huge veggie korma in the slow-cooker.
Did lots of filing etc.
Found stuff to sell on ebay.
Saved lots of money:
Changed broadband and phone - saving £37.50 per month
Virgin mobile contract ending so rang up, threatened to leave and eventually ended up with double all allowances at a cost of £10, instead of £25 that it was.
Did comparison thing on the electric and have switched, saving £16 p.m.
Dog insurance renewal, got it down from the quoted £13.95 pm to £6.85 (same cover with excess £15 more).
All told a saving of £75.60 per month :T

I know. I'm feeling quite chuffed. I didn't honestly think there would be any saving to be had on the electric, so was pleasantly surprised. The broadband package and phone and pet insurance, all happened to be just coming out of contract, so I set too. Just goes to show there are still saving to be had by haggling and threatening to go elsewhere!
One downside, I did go and buy a packet of happy shopper cookies to keep me going!0 -
Well done!:j:j:T:T
It's worth doing every so often .... I had a "day" a couple of weeks ago:- Cats insurance - £19.85 to £12.36 (lower excess & cover increased from £4k to 7k)!
- Dog insurance - £24.49 to £17.32 (lower excess & same cover)
- Boiler insurance - £20.49 to £12.90 (forced to do this as old co wouldn't cover it anymore!)
- Car insurance - £283 / year to £220 / year (changed car)
- Bike insurance - £30 / year to £24 / year (every little...)
Not a huge amount (but currently trying to put £25 away for a new boiler - so it will pay for that!:T) - and especially as I have checked these each renewal time for the past 3 years (so generally don't make as big savings as you do the first time!) .... not too bad!
Everything else (b/band, landline etc) all on deals until May - so I'll be having another go then when they run out!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

Hey Rising,
Well done. Definitely well worth shopping around for everything. Also, I've discovered that if I periodically ring Sky and say I'm thinking of going Freeview instead, they always give me a discount for a few months.
