Behind the scenes

Not sure that's quite the right title - it should perhaps have been PLEASE GIVE ME SOME REASSURANCE!!!!
We applied to the Woolwich on 13 November through L&C and were credit scored / checked the same day. They have all the original documents that they have requested and they got those around 17 November.
We have to pay a valuation fee and that money has not yet come out of my account - I was just wondering what would / could be going on behind the scenes and if this "delay" is normal?
We move out in a fortnight!!!!!
Thank you, Sarah

More than likely your application is sitting in a pile waiting to be looked at. These days lenders have far too few experienced staff for the levels of business they are trying to process.I am a mortgage broker. 17th of November was a Saturday. So unlikely that the documents were processed then. So only a few working days has past since then.
Later on this week if you haven't heard from your broker give them a call.0 -

Applying for the mortgage is only the first step. So advisable not to get to stressed. House purchase runs to its own timetable. Sometimes quick other times slow.0 -
Thank you again guys - I heard back from L&C yesterday - The Woolwich had "forgotten" to order the survey...
The money has now come out of my account, the paperwork has all been approved - just awaiting the valuation survey results... fingers crossed!0
