Lidl seem to have lost the plot lately. The weekend half price deals have been rubbish. Called in my local Lidl today ( first time in weeks ) and it was empty, used to be very busy on Saturdays.A watched pot always boils. :j0

I thought the 200g of cheese for 49p and 5kg of onions for 99p was a pretty good deal this weekend.

They better be gearing up for some major christmas offer or I am so over Lidl!!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

The weekend offers have not been as good this year. I wish Aldi would run a similar offer to compete.
My local Lidl was very, very busy on Saturday - 3 tills on and queues at all of them.
The next time they do chicken breasts on half-price I'll have to double up.

Agree Karlie, can't grow onions for that price and cheese at £2.45kg gotta be good.
Though never see the point in buying bones, as in ribs and chicken legs. And what does 'spare' mean!!!0 -
Onions at 99p for 5kgs were a cracking price. Cheapest I've seen since getting 5kgs for 1 euro in Auchan in France!0

Love the fact that they were sliced too. Makes it so much easier than grated or a block of cheese when making sandwiches, toasties etc.
The cheese was such a good deal that I got 2.6kg worth.
:D:o
Cheese 'n' onion sandwiches here I come! :rotfl:
Another reason I went was because they were giving away free advent calendars over the weekend. Made the trip that extra bit worthwhile.

Usually the price is cheaper per kilo than the meat without bones. It depends if the amount of meat is worth it.
However you can use the bones to make a stock to be used as the basis for a gravy (the powders are often not too nice) or soups or use in marinading meat before cooking.
We even have a butchers here which sells meat-free bones - cattle leg bones at £1 each for example.0
