Which comes first, the apprenticeship or the course?

generally the appreticeship gets you onto the course, you would need to speak to a college that does the courses to clear that one up.
If your young its not such a problem to get in. If you want to future proof, look for employers and courses in renewable energy.

Good salespeople will always be in demand and can virtually dictate whatever they want.

What do you mean by engineering skills - anything in particular? Is it possible to enter the field without having a degree in it?

Don't necessarily need a degree, with a HNC, and a few years experience behind you, you can go contracting as a Draughtsman and earn £30+ per hour without too much trouble, even CAD Monkeys earn £20+. Specialise as a piping draughty and go up aberdeen and this can quite easily reach £50+ from what i hear

I know some people with HNDs and couldn't find any job at all. To be a Draughtsman you need that experience... It's not easy getting the experience.

One of my business ideas was installation & setup of personal wind/solar energy systems (for private households). I may pursue this, do you know if you need any government certificates of safety/professional qualifications to do it?

Why change the title and delete the post? It may have been useful to others.

mate it is bad form to delete a post when people have went to the trouble of answering your question, the thread could help others in the future.

Possibly because the OP is an attention seeker/weirdo/serial question asker:
