Why are we getting underlined links on here?

These underlined links are all over the site now and often bear no resemblance, when clicked, to the highlighted word.
Why are we getting them and can I get rid of them?

I haven't noticed any. Sounds like a problem with the skimlinks: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/site/skimlinks
I think that's something for MSE to fix rather than you. They state they don't use the keywords version, so it not supposed to be activated.0 -
I havent noticed it either? Maybe ask on the techie board?0

sounds more like you've picked up some malware to me. Post on the techie board and they'll talk you through finding and removing it.0

Sounds like you got malware. If you use Google Chrome you can get an extension which blocks all adware.0

Oh right. Getting these stupid links and when clicked it's like a betting website or sure fire can't lose investment (!!)
I am actually using Google Chrome. How do I block these links then?0 -
yeah that's what I kept getting. I recommend asking on the techie board, - the people there will be able to advise you what to do. Mine got a bit complicated and I can't remember exactly what I did now, but it took me a while to locate the problem. For me I think it was something to do with either the task bars or some add-ons.0

Try cleaning all the junk off rather than blocking them: go on the Techies board and read the relevant sticky. You need a decent antivirus like Avira or Avast NOT the Windows one that comes as standard, a malware programme like Malwarebytes (update it before running).
Also download CCleaner - that will get rid of all cookies, history, temporary internet files that can harbour nasties. And check you have the latest version of all programmes (download Update Checker from File Hippo) and that Windows is set for automatic updates - this also helps protect you. Empty your Downloads folder, you can find that from the Start menu.
These are all free programmes, all well respected and safe. :money: All this might take a few hours, but you could come and go whilst you are cooking or relaxing.

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Have you unticked skimlinks to see if it is that? You can do it in your profiel0
