I am fuming! I can not believe I am having difficultly getting a loan.
Options
I cant believe it, I am 32 years old, income of over over 30k per annum, home owner with equity of 100k and yet loan companies wont give me a loan for £9,000.
To put a long story short, back in May last year (2006) I decided it would be a good time to clear my debts so i could buy a house this year. So i decided to sell my car, a japanese toyota twin turbo supra. I have been without a car for nearly 10 months now and in the processed cleared £26,911.53 worth of debts.
Two months ago I was debt free and applied for a loan of £5,000 from northern rock to buy a car, I also opened up a halifax bank account to take up on the high interest rate on their current account, and a Halifax credit card to take up on the 0% for 12 months on purchases made in the first 3 months (I wanted a wide screen tv, and a tv for my livingroom) so didnt see any harm.
However I still havent bought a car and still have £5,000 and now i want up my budget to £9,000 for a car. so I thought i'd reapply for another loan from northern rock which was unsuccessful, so tried barclaycard personal loans as i have been a loyal customer for nearly 13 years. they also rejected my application.
I cant believe it! When i was in debt it was so easy to get deeper into debt by applying for loans and credit cards, and now, they just dont want to know!!!
Not sure what to do, other than get my credit file references by paying £2 from the agencies. I have also started to close most of my credit card accounts...
Does anyone know if you use paypal and transfer a bulk of money from your credit card into someone elses account (ie my parents account) would the credit card see that as a advance cash transaction or a purchase? as I am wondering whether I could exploit a possible loophole by taking advantage of the 12 months 0% on my new halifax credit card.
Cheers
