Is the cost of beef suet going up
Comments

Had to buy suet for £1.58! in Sainsburys yesterday and then annoyingly saw it for 67p in Tesco today, so now have 3 cheap boxes. Still showing at the higher price on mysupermarket.
At £1.58 for 200g it was more expensive by weight than the M&S casserole steak, for the stew which was £3.33 for 500g as part of their 3 for £10 meat offer, which is clearly ridiculous.0 -
The suet is now £1.10 in Tesco, but Morrisons have it down from 67p to 50p.
Offer ends 24 Dec.0 -
yes, i bought a couple from Morrisons the other day. Also, their roast beef and pork joint are also on offer too (not sure what price but pretty cheap).0

with out checking i guess the price of suet will go up with the price of beef.0

I low carb and eat averagely 14 free range organic eggs per week, 1kg organic live natural yogurt, 100g 90% cocoa chocolate and at least 250g cheese. I cook using ghee, Aberdeen Angus beef dripping, lard, butter and Extra Virgin olive oil.
.
With out waching the link.
Is to simplisitic to lump all saturates into one group. Same as poly's and mono's.
Your have to break it down into each individual fat.
I mention something I read ages ago.
A diet high in saturated has not been proven to increase the risk of heart attacks.
Its a diet high in trans fatty acid and low in omega's 3 oils etc that is. Its just this diet is normally high in saturates as well0 -

well, i bought one pack for me (dumplings, nom!) and one for the birdies as shall be making suet balls for them this w/e. they need our help, so if you could make your own, will save a fair bit instead of shop-bought;)
ps. just came across lard yesterday in the s/m, and really that's actually what i should use for making suet balls for the birds, not the suet that i had intended for the dumplings! it would be more economical for lard (altho' that's gone up as well this year!)0 -
Just spotted Asda have it at 67p again.
Time to stock up in case it's only a temporary price drop.0 -
Lidls have suet, and it can't be too badly priced because I bought it lol0
