would it ever be possible to get a mortgage? I had a flat 6yrs ago and it go repossessed it was an awful time in my life but I would love one day to get back on the property ladder properly - I currently owe £21k but once I have paid this back how long afterwards could I realistically get a mortgage - when would my credit file be clear?

Have you checked your credit file with Noddle to see if you have any defaults? If so, I would estimate 6 years from when they were first registered. You will be credit worthy again and you will get a mortgage but you'll need to save a deposit.
Did you also go bankrupt? I'm thinking you havent as you've said your £21k in debt so you mustve been liable for the shortfall after the repossession.

I missed 3 payments in 3 months on a loan, when I lost a job.
Then I got a new job, paid off the whole loan in 3 months.
Is that a "default?"
or just a missed payment0 -
You wouldve certainly rec'd a default notice if you had one.
Have you checked your credit file with noddle? It would say 'D' in red if you did default.

you would need to check your credit file I would think just a missed payment - they would have sent you a default notice if it was a default I think.0
