On the 4th Nov the Sunday times suggested that male annuity rates could fall between 5% and !3% on Dec 21 2012 due EU directive on gender discrimination. What effect will this have on Guaranteed Minimum annuity rates? Will we have to check with each company? or is there a common view by Annuity providers they will all have to fall in line and give men and women the same deal even on GMAR?
Thank You
Chris (male would like to buy annuity next year)

Some providers have already moved to gender neutral rates or staging it towards that figure. Some will draw a line in the sand but its not clear cut now. What effect will this have on Guaranteed Minimum annuity rates?
