Wrong Employment year on application (Reference check)

Hi all.
I recently got a new job that I am due to start in December. Based on referenxe checks. I have noticed I have made a mistake on the original applixation and put that I started a previous job in 2006 however I wasnt put onto the books until early 2007. It is a silly mistake but I got confused as I was self employed either side of this job.
Will this error result in my new employers withdrawing their offer? I will get good references from previous jobs but putting the wrong year must be deemed a bad mistake.
Thanks for any help.
Tony

TBH,
I think you should ring them up and tell them !
Any decent employer should recognise that
1) it was a mistake and
2) You are honest enough to fess up and
3) If your good enough you will get the job anyway.0 -

I'd do this, too. If you're confident of getting good references, that should matter more than a mistake you made on your application form.0 -
Thanks I called to tell the HR man and he said he doesnt deal with ref checks but they may ask why the dates are wrong. He also said it wouldnt mean a rejection it just may cause problems to the progress. Not sure if its good news or bad news! have told my current emplyer I am leaving in Three weeks so I hope it doesnt cause problems. I can be so stupid at times0
