Indepedant mortgage advice

I just wanted to put a message on here to show independent mortgage advice is in my opinion the best way forward.
5 weeks ago today we had an offer accepted on a house. We had decided to release equity on an existing property and have another mortgage on the new property. We had to move very quick to secure the house.
We contacted an independent mortgage advisor (not so far from here!) and he was kind helpful and honest. No questions were too much and assistance was given in every way they could.
The offer was placed in on the Friday with surveys on the Wednesday and Thursday and we had two mortgage offers by the following Monday and Tuesday.
As I sit here today we are due to complete today; just waiting for the call.
Please think carefully when getting mortgage advice direct from a branch or through an estate agency. We were severely pressured to use the estate agency and I am so glad we kept to our guns. The calls were relentless!
