Normal spend versus deprivation of assets

I am not so sure that the repairs to the house had to be formalised via official written LOANS.
If they both stated he was 'loaning her the money til she sold' with the intention he was repaid from the sale, they would probably get away with it- as these repairs may have been necessary to any sale, and would have decreased the sale prices if not done. So collect evidence from receipts, CC bills, and photos just in case. A statement from t he realtor/estate agent who handled the sale may help as well as they could say if the state of repair of the property was relevant to the sale proceeds.0 -

So unless I'm reading this wrong, it looks like she is fine until the end of the AIP, then may well loose the benefit if the work can't be sufficiently evidenced and/or the cash she gave away is fairly significant.

I think she would be OK, as they'd reassess her on the basis of her circumstances at the time. Unless she only gets savings pension credit and not guarantee pension credit - if that is the case then she probably does need to keep DWP informed of changes to capital. http://www.ageuk.org.uk/Documents/EN-GB/Factsheets/FS48_Pension_Credit_fcs.pdf?dtrk=true0 -
