Is this post some sort of riddle? every time a question is asked the op answers in the negative, i personnally dont believe this scenario actually exists.

The words cake and eat it come to mind.

As other have said the whole thing stinks of a collusive separation and I think this is probably the route HMRC will go down. If they haven't invited you for an IUC think yourself lucky.

Also if you have claimed any other benefits then the LA and/or DWP may come knocking if the HMRC pass their information on.

    What is an IUC?

Wife has boyfriend but not been on the scene more than a few months....holidays with girlfriend (not the wife's girlfriend, his girlfriend!!!) booked in her name and through her address, don't think passports are registered to an actual address are they?

Did he recieve a new passport in these 8 years? whose address did it go too? (as if i need to ask).
I don't mean to be rude op but you seem to now an awful lot about these friends. I would'nt know who booked a friends holiday and whose name the booking was in. Either way if he has been on holiday he will still be named on that booking.

He must be the unluckiest man/most careless man alive in my opinion I'm afraid.
He is truly screwed from every angle I can see if what the OP has said is true, frankly because of all the pitfalls that are awaiting him from the HMRC and DWP fraud if his story IS correct (i.e. due to non declaration of everything short of membership to the communist party !!!!!!) he is actually far more likely to be in a better position to simply pay up for the 8 years of 'living with his wife'.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.

Hands in the air time - I am the 'new' girlfriend (of
almost two years). We have been on holiday together twice. He is not sure about the passport but I would guess it would have gone to wifey's address....and yes, we can both see exactly why you all think it's a wind up, we are seeing it as more and more unbelievable ourselves as your questions are making us consider the aspects. He is not a 'paper work' fan and thought it easier to leave as is as when address changed on one thing would need changing on another....

To be honest your friend has an answer for every question put which is a bit strange.

I'm sorry but people just don't live like this, so far he had lied to so many places its confusing! He does realise the amount of offences he has built up.

Don't think they have a leg to stand on and would think she'll have to pay it back.

Does he still keep a toothbrush there as as he couldn't be bothered to move it?

Lets be honest ok he is lazy and can't be bothered but what ex wife would put up with this when he doesn't even pay regular maintenance?

Sorry to be harsh but sounds like a benefit scam from what we have been told. If its not I feel very sorry for the wife to be dragged through a mess of his making.

If you are the new girlfriend and you can provide proof of the 2 holidays together that will help. If you don't still have any paperwork the holiday companies will still be able to provide copies. Even with that 'evidence' they will still have a big struggle though to convince the DWP and HMRC they were all legit.
