just done a cccs review

I've just done the yearly cccs review and the amount I will now be paying will be 159 quid - was 54. Whilst it all seems dandy on paper, it just doesnt seem like that in reality and now worrying about how gonna afford that extra hundred pounds. I have just had a pay rise of about 50 quid a month, however i was hoping to use that to put some money aside for car tax xmas pressies etc, coz at the moment we dont have anything put aside. I'm dreading telling the OH, he knew I was doing a review today and kept saying that the amount cant go up as we wont be able to afford it.

On a positive note it was going to take me 62 years to be debt free, but obviously considerably less than that now.

  • dubgirl, try not to worry.just try it for a month and see how you go. the amount is not set in stone and if you cant manage then just fone cccs and tell them you will have to reduce the amount,at you are trying to be debtfree sooner.
i have 26 years on my dmp and i owe £5000 to one of my debts and the cccs is paying £5 so that will take me 93 years and im 44 already so short of coming back from the dead to pay them,im not dwelling on it.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

Agree with ILGD - it must be worrying to see how you'll cope, but if you look back a year - would you have thought you'd cope the way things were going?
    Just a thought?

I guess thats a good way to look at things - a year ago I thought the world was going to end in terms of money and debt and I need to remind myself that I and my family have made it through a year with our health and happiness intact, although we dont have much.
