We've got a Barbie set, which has 3 cats in it: 1 big cat and 2 kittens. Well she only has 1 kitten now after DS dropped one in the canal, but she did initially have 3 cats at least.

I have the magazine and I am putting 3 cats as I can see 3 different cats in the magazine (I know it does not say in the magazine and I too have googled and come up with 6 cats)

With most kids mags I think they generally mean what's on the page! I've had this a few times when entering the kids comps....and a few arguments from my kids telling me the right answer!
I would just count how many is on the page oddies
