Hello
I feel a little 'greedy'/awakward in complaining about a win, but there have been problems with 2 of my wins in the past few months.
First was a competition to win some Sarah Waters books. I received this email on the 17th July:
Congratulations – you are one of the five winners in our competition to win copies of three Sarah Waters reissues. Your copies of Tipping The Velvet, Fingersmith and Affinity will be sent out this week so you should receive them Friday or Saturday, depending on post in your area.
Thanks for entering, and congratulations again!
Then a further email asking for my address. I emailed them the day after with my details, but I never received the books. I emailed them again in September and never heard anything back from them. What should I do about this one?
The second one is slightly more complicated, I won a taekwondo competition which included 2 tickets to a taekwondo event, an olympics tracksuit, £100 MyProtein voucher, £100 sports clothes voucher and a 6 month virgin gym pass. This was on May 8th.
I received the tickets, and about a month later I received codes for the £100 vouchers. However I have never received the tracksuit or the gym pass. I have emailed them twice since and had one reply, saying they would chase up the rest of the prize. I have been busy and haven't emailed since, but what can I do about this?
Thank you so much for your help

I can just say what I would do. If it was me I don't think I would let it go - at least not without giving it another good try first. I would email again to both of them in a very friendly way, but saying that I'm a bit concerned that I haven't heard anything about this for a while and would appreciate an update at their earliest convenience. I would send that and give myself a deadline of probably a week.
2) If they don't respond after a week I would write again along the lines of 'Houston we have a problem'. And although I would still keep it friendly I would end with, if I haven't heard back from you by [a week later] I will feel forced to contact the IPC.
3) A week later I would do just that.
For me it's not about the actual prize value, it's more about it being a win. These don't happen often enough to let it go easily. I don't see it as being greedy. They ran a comp for their own reasons and presumably offered prizes that they thought people would want, so they should expect that the winner/s will want those prizes. GL XI am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0 -
I have had a few wins that went astray, and like BLULU contacted them first. I have only had to contact IPC once and the prize was here within a fortnight. Good luck.0
