I've just changed my central heating and have the old boiler, expansion tank, some copper pipe and a lead slate to get rid of
Is there any value in selling these as scrap metal? If there is, can anyone tell me where? I'm in Newtownabbey
Thanks as ever

For the best price take it direct to Clearway, Twin rd. at Belfast docks
They will pay you by weight & type of metal0 -
Second that.. Clearway are the top of the foodchain... the "local" scrap dealers take their their stuff to sell to them as they are the exporters.. may as well cut out the middle man.
Would also advise to remove all fittings etc off pipework, as they like it "clean" and will penalise you if it's got loads of fittings on it or any plastic coverings etc.... cleaner the better!!0 -
Are Clearway the best place to sell a dud car battery? or anywhere else?Dave0

You will get approx £7 or £8 for an ordinary car battery at clearways.0

You can also try T Met they have a site in Mallusk, they can sometimes offer better prices than clearways for scrap...0

There's got to be a good value on it otherwise there wouldn't be all these reports of copper theft from public utilities. Thanks for bringing this one up.0
